Both are smoothing treatments that cut frizz, add shine, and fight humidity — but they work differently and suit different goals. Here's an honest breakdown so you can choose with confidence. There's no “better” option; it comes down to your hair, your lifestyle, and how much natural body you want to keep.
A protein-based smoothing treatment that coats the outside of the hair. The molecules are larger, so the formula wraps around the cuticle rather than penetrating it — softening frizz while leaving more of your natural body and movement.
Uses smaller keratin molecules that penetrate the cuticle, filling in damage and coating the strand. Because keratin occurs naturally in hair, it strengthens as it smooths — for a sleeker, straighter, longer-lasting result.

Results also last longer with the right aftercare — use a sulfate-free (and ideally sodium-chloride-free) shampoo, wash less frequently, and the treatment stays in longer.

A keratin treatment deposits a protective protein inside each strand to smooth and strengthen, typically with some downtime before washing. A Brazilian Blowout bonds a protein layer to the outside of the hair, reduces frizz immediately, and has little to no downtime.

Yes. Keratin treatments often work especially well on previously colored or highlighted hair because the cuticle has already been opened. If you're blonde or highlighted, we use a formula designed for light hair to avoid any yellow cast.
Use a sulfate-free (ideally sodium-chloride-free) shampoo, wash your hair less frequently, and avoid harsh clarifying products. The less often you shampoo, the longer your smoothing treatment lasts.
